Honey (not your sweetheart)
Honey is a sweet food made by honey bees using nectar from flowers. Honey is a sweet, thick sugary solution that is composed of varying proportions of water, oil, fructose, glucose and special enzymes produced by bees. Honey can vary widely in taste and in color, depending on what the bees are eating. Honeys are very popular and are sold around the world but only few people know that there are also benefits of honey that can be taken advantage of.
The honey making process
How do bees make honey? Lets get to know what these hardworking bees have to go through before we can enjoy the health benefits of honey!
The first step begins when field bees fly from flower to flower collecting the nectar sweet juices that are provided by flowers. The hardworking field bees suck out the nectar with their tongues and store the nectars it sacs within their bodies. The field bees fly back to their bee hive and regurgitate the stored nectar into the mouths of house bees, after their sacs have been field.
The job of the house bees is to add enzymes from their bodies to the nectar which causes the water in the nectar to evaporate. They store the nectar in a cell of honeycomb and when it ripens, it becomes bee honey. I said bee honey because there are other insects can also produce honey,
