Molds grow in places where there are oxygen and moisture, which means you need to check your damp basements, attics, closets, attics, garages, bathroom and any part of your house that has moisture. You need to check these places before you start the mold and mildew removal process to make sure that all the affected areas of your house will be covered. Companies who offer mold removal services usually have mold detection devices which is one of the advantages if you have someone or a company do the process for you.

If you're hiring someone or a company to do it for you, the best way to find a contractor is to look online for businesses that offer household mold removal. It's not a bad idea to visit multiple sites so you can check how much they charge and the cost of mold removal in general. Depending on how big the affected area is, the company who's doing it for you and other factors, black mold removal can get really expensive, some even have to pay $5,000 just to kill this smelly creatures. If you have a bigger area then it may be more than $5,000 that's why it's really important that you know at least how to prevent molds from growing or from existing specially inside your house. Nobody wants a house full of black mold!

The cheaper way to kill black mold in your house is to do it yourself. The natural ways are spraying  tea tree treasure, grapefruit seed extract or vinegar to the affected areas. However these methods are not guaranteed to kill all the mold.

Just like with your health, prevention is always better than cure, and it's also way cheaper! You may prevent mold in your home by preventing water leaks or water instrusion, making sure your home has good ventilation in the bathroom and in your kitchen, using a basement dehumidifier in your basement, keeping humidity level in the house as low as you can, adding a mold inhibitor to pain before applying it to the wall especially in your basement and by always cleaning your bathroom and other parts of the house where there's moisture.

I usually kill and remove the mold whenever I detected one. First, I will spray down the area with white vinegar, leave it to sit for about 15 minutes. Then scrub off the mold using baking soda and white vinegar paste. Rinse well.
